Why choose a SwiftCaddy Lithium Battery?
A LiFePO4 battery typically lasts between 3,000 and 5,000+ cycles at 80% Depth of Discharge (DoD). This translates to roughly 10 to 15 years of daily use before the battery drops to 70–80% of its original capacity.
The exact number of cycles depends heavily on how deep you discharge the battery each time:
100% DoD (Full depletion):
2,000 to 3,000 cycles.
Discharging the battery completely to its cutoff voltage every time will shorten its overall lifespan.
80% DoD (Recommended):
3,000 to 5,000+ cycles. Using only the top 80% of the battery’s capacity strikes the best balance between usable power and longevity.
50% DoD (Shallow cycling):
6,000 to 10,000+ cycles. Only using half the battery charge before recharging extends its life dramatically.
A higher Depth of Discharge compared to Lead Acid Batteries. Lead Acid Batteries risk damage when drained beyond 50%, our LiFePO4 cells can be safely discharged to over 90%, providing significantly more usable daily power.
